The Gopikas of Atlanta wanted to experience Krishna’s Brindavana leela in Atlanta. So they lovingly built a Kalpavruksha vahana for Krishna…Kalpavruksha, the wish giving tree was at their disposal…but all they asked from Sriman Narayana was Gopika anubhavam…

There was an air of jubilation and exhuberation…the event started with sevakaalam and the Bhagavathas recited Thirupallandu, Thiruppavai ,Kanninum Shiruthaambu and Kovil Thiruvaimozhi while our Alankaara Priyan was being decorated…
The audience was spell bound to witness the magnificence of Krishna, the owner of all opulence enjoying the bashful glances of Rukmini and Satyabhaama…The glistening golden Kalpatharu filled with golden fruits was a beautiful backdrop for our Bhuvana Sundhara…
Our chivalrous prince Krishna jumped straight from the stage to show his leelas…As a prelude to Kalyana Uthsavam, Krishna and Thaayaars had a purappadu and were taken around the hall in a gentle swaying motion alongside the soothing recitation of Siriya Thirumadal…When the maalais were being exchanged between Perumal and Thaayaars, ladies sang Maalai Maatrinaal…Kodhai Malai Saatrinaal…
This was followed by Raja Nadai…Perumal enjoying Shikshaa Valli and Siriya Thirumadal displayed his Raja Nadai… purappadu was going in semi circles and circles…The ladies aptly described his majestic nadai with the song Minnal Kodiyo Yenna Anna Nadai Nadandhu…and the swinging motions with the song Kannoonjal Aadinalaam…Perumal with Kalpatharu background appeared to be seated in a golden swing and the lines Ponnoonjal Aadinalaam made perfect sense…The Bhagavathas wanted to have this oonjal anubhavam continuously and sang Aadir Oonjal…Aadir Oonjal …in different ragas…
Perumal and Thaayaars were carried back to the stage with melodious Naadaswaram rendition of Gaana Murthe…reminding us that Krishna in front of us is Venugopala…one who enjoys Venu Gaana…Krishna looked lustrous bejeweled with beautiful ornaments and colorful maalais including Paarijaatha maalai…The many sunflowers around him gave a visual effect of the Purusha Sooktham lines Chakshur Suryo Ajaayatha…
The grand Kalyana Uthsavam began with maha sankalpam…it was thrilling to listen to sankalpam being recited together by hundreds of devotees…The bridegroom, Sri Krishna Paramaathma was welcomed with the song Krishna nee begane baaro…Thaayaars were welcomed the song Bhaagyaadha Lakshmi baaramma…Kankanams were tied and Divya Yagnopaveetha dhaaranam was done for Perumal…Sri, Bhoo and Neela sookthams were recited when Kanya Dhaanam was conducted…Finally to the auspicious sounds of ghatti melam, Thiru Maangalya Dhaaranam was done with the manthram “Maangalyam thanthu naanena… …Several seer bakshanams were offered to Perumal and Thaayaars and the entire group of Bhagavathas rejoiced the wedding with the song Ananda, Ananda, Ananda mei…The Maha Kalyana Uthsavam concluded with Nalangu and the recitation of Vaaranamaayiram… Witnessing the divine marriage of Sriman Narayana with Piraattis eradicates all sins and removes all obstacles for attaining moksham…
Kalpavruksha blessed the Bhagavathas who recited Deshikar’s Gopala Vimshati lines Vande Brindavanacharam vallavee jana vallabhaam…with Brindavana anubhavam …While Rukmini Kalyaanam was happening on the dias, Radha Kalyaanam was happening in the audience…The entire hall resounded with melodious Bhajans…

Perumal and Thaayars were now ready for their purappaadu…they wanted to bless their dear children who conducted their wedding with zeal and enthusiasm…The reverberations of the conch filled the air…The Bhagavathas started reciting Thirupallandu, Poochoodal, Kaappidal and Shenniongu…All the devotees began Govinda Nama Sankeerthanam with the continuous recitation of the lines Narayana…Narayana…Narayana…Govinda…
One hundred and eight varieties of fruits were being offered to Perumal and the divine consorts… The ladies carried the fruit trays and fruits were offered at several points during purappadu…The phalams talked to each other and expressed that they had attained Janma Saaphalyam since they were served as an offering to Sriman Narayana himself…
The purappadu went around the premises and Perumal blessed the devotees this time with Sarpa Nadai…The Bhagavathas carried Perumal and Thaayars and moved forward with serpant like movements to the naadaswaram rendition of Aaadu paambe…and Kalinga mardhana nrithyam…Perumal was offered with divine mudras and Mangala Arathi. Once again the Bhruguvalli lines were recited to denote that Sriman Narayana will offer saameepyam to Prapannaas in Sri Vaikunta…
Govinda…undhan naamave azhagu…was sung and felt by every devotee…Perumal and the consorts were slowly taken back to the stage with the divya prabandham recitation of Vaadinen Vaadi, Jayadeva’s Ashtapadhis and more Gopika geethams…the ladies also did kolaattam to celebrate the grand event…
Manthra Pushpam and Saama Veda were chanted…detailed saatrumurai was conducted…Pravaram for Perumaal and Thaayaar were recited…Arulappadu for Perumal,Thaayaar and Acharyas were offered…Divya Dampathi and Simad Andavan Achayra anugraham were given to the assembly…
Devotees who were injected with Narayana smaranams and intoxicated with Govinda Namam received Perumal Theertham, Shataari, Paaduka theertham and prasaadhaam …
